Cake brings people together

Yesterday I had the chance to share a day with a good friend.

She invited me over for a baking day. And boy, we had so much fun. We laughed, we giggled, we gossiped, we learned new tricks, we discovered new things. Oh and yes, we also baked.

Anne Brith is one of the big blogger names here in Norway. She writes about baking, her beautiful kids, lifestyle and almost everything. An inspiring woman. Check out her blog. She has really yummy recipes, fun and inspiring stories.

One more thing that I love about her, is her aesthetics. We have the same eye for everything pretty and girly and sweet and delicate… the list goes on. 🙂

All smiles the whole day. This is just one of the many selfies and pictures we took during the day.

I brought her a bouquet of sugar roses instead of fresh ones. It lasts longer. So every time she sees it, she’ll think of me.

This funny charming little guy, Anne Brith’s youngest son Christian, was running around us while we were baking. One of the highlights of the day. He surely did light up the kitchen when he’s around.

The cake we made. Perfect for Valentine’s day. Here’s a tip: Do not use too much melted chocolate for the drip “effect” or it will make this “wrinkle” as the chocolate starts to stiffen and still dripping at the same time. That’s one of the things we’ve learned. But otherwise the cake was perfect.

Cake brings people together. Not just during birthdays, weddings, parties and other special occasions. Even on an ordinary Sunday. A time spent with a friend, sharing the same interest is a well time spent. I think I’ve read that quote somewhere. Or maybe I’m just making it up. Hahaha I don’t know. But you know what I mean.

Yesterday was definitely a very very fun Sunday.

Later.
